Silence in the wings: Week 1, 12th - 14th January 2021

Tuesday 12th: I continued to research for my unit 7 essay, I chose to write it on Robin Mathews who is a makeup artist.

Wednesday 13th: For the first session I did some aging makeup for a practical, which I think went well but it could of been more defined for the stage. I did a second attempt at the makeup but I think I went too defined and maybe added to many lines around the eyes, which looked bad up close but I think it would be very effective on a stage.

After that we were all told to watch some videos, I watched the props one, we had to take notes and find one interesting fact to tell the others. The fact I chose was that the prop master in the video always took pictures of stuff with his hand in so that you could see what it looks like next to people, and that he always numbered things as fabric samples and he explained that when sending the pictures they sometimes flip for different phones, which is not good as you could accidentally buy the wrong one.

Thursday 14th: In the first lesson of the day we had a new teacher for our drama lessons, we mainly did some team exercises to get to know everyone better and find out what our strengths and weaknesses are. I didn't feel particularly confident doing this but the whole point of these sessions are to become more confident so I just went with it. In the following sessions we were given our roles in the performance, I got the props role, which I am fairly happy with as I want to pursue doing props. We were also given questions to answer that we could use when it comes to filming, so that we have an idea of what we would say.

Target: My target is to use my camera in next weeks drama lesson, to build confidence and to get to know my class mates better.
