Silence in the wings: Week 2, 19th - 21st January 2021

Tuesday 19th: This lesson was a little different from the regular ones we have, this was because two of my class mates had made a quiz for us all to do. I thought it was quite refreshing from the normal classes, although I didn't do as well as I would of wanted.

Wednesday 20th: We started the day with a design task, in which we had to draw up some ideas for some of the props and fully cost them to work with a fake budget of £80, we also had to be mindful of delivery for materials as there was a hypothetical time limit. I drew up the dog and the rat with notes on how to make them and a list of materials next to them, I managed to keep the costs down by choosing materials already from college, so they would both come to a cost of only £17.96 out of the £80 budget, which I thought was a pretty good price for the materials. In the afternoon I made the first rat, which was surprisingly easier than I thought it would be, but it gave me an excuse to use the faux fur I had lying around. There will be a more in depth written piece on how I made it in the personal projects page.

Thursday 21st: This day started with a lesson with the new teacher, this time I used my camera and got a little more involved into the conversation, which I didn't really want to do but the whole point of these lessons is to become more confident so I will continue trying to participate more. We started the lesson with a game again and then we had to each read a line of a poem which counted as our first proper readthrough. After doing that we had to design what our costumes for our roles in the show would like, which was fairly easy as everyone back stage should be wearing all black, I did add things such as an apron though so that it wouldn't be so plain and simple. Following this I made the second rat for the backup, and I also helped with another read through as someone else who was supposed to do it wasn't there.

Target: I need to remember to take pictures of everything while I'm working of stuff.

On a side note I sat in for a live talk on Saturday with the makeup artist for the show Peaky Blinders, a show that I like quite a bit, and I found it somewhat interesting but I think it could of been better.
