Monday 26th: I had a production meeting which was useful but I have to admit I was feeling a little frustrated afterwards, this was because the producer of the show explained how she didn't want any props. I suppose its her show so she can do whatever she wants with it but I just think its a little weird that she wants the smell of a pub but not the look of it, it seems kind of backward to me. I understand that the script was made so that the actors would mime certain things but I think the set should at least have some kind of background or character to it, its good that I have a jukebox to make instead of a bunch of props but I don't want to go all out making it only for it to look out of place next to a bare bar and no background. I'll be happy to make whatever she asks for but there needs to be at least a projected background to help with the look of everything.
Tuesday 27th: Started with updating websites and blogs, after that I designed the pub sign and the jukebox. I made 5 different designs for the sign so that there were options to pick from, after emailing them to Sarah (Producer) she ended up picking number 3 with the shape of number 1. I had also made a couple of mock ups, 1 for each design to get an idea of colour choices which was useful. I stuck to doing 1 design for the jukebox but had different lighting options so that I didn't too many things to chose from.
Wednesday 28th: Spent the beginning of the day using my Dremel to round the edge of the foam the is going to be used for the bumper on the car that is being used for the grease show. We also had to figure out a way of gluing it on as the type of foam being used didn't stick very well with a glue gun, so I suggested wrapping parts of the foam with tape and then using those point to glue with the glue gun. After that I got the tables out for my show and spent the rest of the day sanding them down so they can be stained later.
Thursday 29th: I cut out the sign using the new jigsaw and had someone assemble some bar stools that were found while I started painting one side of the sign. I got most of one side done, just need to finish adding the foam to it. At random points throughout painting the sign I helped another classmate with her work, telling her how to hammer properly and affectively and explaining to her why her drill bit snapped while she was using it.
Target: Finish adding the foam to the sign and paint the other side of it.
