Week 1: 9th-10th September 2020

Updated: Sep 22, 2020

-Wednesday 9th: We started off the first day in the theatre with a talk on health and safety in the college during Covid-19, and we all introduced ourselves briefly, then we moved on to the working at heights workshop which we learnt how to safely rig a light and the safety precautions to keep in mind. After that we had a sewing workshop were we learned how to do some basic stitches and how to hem, I also made a small pouch as practice as I had already used a sewing machine before and knew some of the basics. We also set up all of the online info.

-Thursday 10th: For the second day we read through the script and made mind maps of our ideas for the staging and characters. We also decided what characters we would read for next week. After that we had a makeup workshop where we learnt how to create bruises with grease paint makeup, although I already knew how to do it from last year at broadstairs college, we were also showed how to make cuts with a tissue and latex method which was new to me as i'd never tried it before. The year 2's learned how to make a mould which was used to make a fake finger.

-Target: I think my target is to try and over come my fear of heights a bit so that I can comfortably rig lights, and another is to try and talk to people more.
